What about the Trijicon RMR?

Trijicon is an optics manufacturer that was inadvertently popularized to the mainstream when word got out that they were putting bible versus on their optics.  This sparked a controversy, as the War on terror was then said to be a Jihad, as the American’s had Jesus blasters.  What a load of BS.  Anyway, bible versus or not, Trijicon is a great company that produces some great products.  Also, for those of you that don’t know, Trijicon does still put biblical references on their products.  They just only put them civilian bought products.  Bible inscriptions are no longer available to military contracted scope though.  So, if you want to play, you got to pay.
The Trijicon series of optics comes in a few basic flavors.  There is the venerable ACOG (Advanced Combat Optical Gunsight).  The ACOG is probably the most popular magnified optic for the AR series.  The ACOG is a high quality sight that is battle tested and well proven.  Some models even feature a bullet drop compensator that will add is mega fast target transitions from varying distances.  This BDC is available in both 5.56 & 7.62 in certain models.
The Trijicon RMR, acog, & accupoint feature models that have illuminated reticles by way of tritium.  Tritium is a radioactive isotope.  It is actually an isotope of hydrogen.  How it works that that beta rays that are formed from the tritium hit phosphors.  That then creates the glow that you can see.  There half-life of tritium is 12.5 years.  This means that in 12.5 years time, your tritium sight will be half as bright as it is now.  Tritium is also used in Luminox watches for provide illumination.  Even though this is radioactive, it is extremely safe, and Trijicon would not endanger your life. Basically, you would half to rupture 10,000 scope to get a radiation health hazard.  And if you have the money to wreck 10,000 Trijicon Scopes, let me know, because I am your new best friend.   There are several Trijicon fakes out there, so be careful who you buy from.  Trijicon does have a verification page.
